- Oracle Forms and Reports Development
- Database-Backed Web Solutions
- SQL Tuning in an Oracle Environment
- Working with Developers and Network Administrators
- Defining Housekeeping process for Databases (Need to work with Product line). Implementing the housekeeping processes
- Automating the housekeeping processes
- Identifying long-running queries
- Identifying and handling deadlocks
- Structuring the Monitoring/Performance metrics & automation of same
- Indexing the databases based on transactions. Index optimization
- Partitioning the database
- Recommending Performance improvements in database & solution of the same
- Troubleshooting the DB related issues. (disaster recovery, replication, data guard, security, access, Host issues etc. )
- Supporting complex query writing to the teams
- Identifying the security patches & Route/Implementing security measures with support from the product line
- Managing Database access to users and Application, Implementing the customer process around access management in line with an application function
- Managing database security/integrity and backup procedures
- Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation.
- liaising with programmers, applications/operational staff, IT project managers and other technical staff
- Writing reports, documentation and operating manuals
- Providing user training, support and feedback
- Evaluating the remote customer DB, Auditing status & providing recommendations
- Defining the method/procedures to collect data from remote DB to identify operational/Performance issues with remote DB
Technical skills required:
- Oracle Certified DBA ( 10g/11g/12c RAC (Real Application Cluster).)]
- Certified MYSQL Administrator
- 5-7 years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
- Telecom experience with Production DB
- Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery
- Strong command on Disaster Recovery set up and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of Oracle DB performance Tuning & troubleshooting issues related to performance.
- Experience in MS SQL DB performance fine-tuning, Query optimization, Indexing, Partitioning.
- Experience in Oracle RAC DR, Replication, DB performance tuning.
- Experience in Setting up Monitoring on Databases.
- Understanding of relational and dimensional data modelling
- PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills
- Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education & Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
- MCSE/MCSA certifications preferred
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server environments
- Extensive experience with database technologies (ORACLE & MS-SQL)
- Oracle Database Certification
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus
