Project Manager

Job Description:

  • Optiva is looking for a Project Manager to join our Corporate Affairs team. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about engaging with internal and external stakeholders and service delivery. The ideal candidate will be part of the Corporate Affairs team that oversees the restructuring of Optiva’s international entities and offices. Candidates who have a natural skill set for meticulous tracking and follow up are encouraged to apply.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a liaison between Optiva’s Legal, Finance and Tax teams, as well as external stakeholders, such as legal counsels, tax advisors and liquidators with respect to the wind-up/closure of Optiva’s entities
  • Conduct budget reconciliation activities including vendor invoices
  • Execute on operational reporting or project status reports
  • Project tracking using spreadsheets, meetings and follow-up activities
  • Maintaining and monitoring plans, schedules and expenditures
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Ensuring engagement deadlines are met
  • Determining engagement changes, challenges and opportunities
  • Providing administrative support as needed
  • Undertaking engagement tasks as required
  • Developing engagement strategies
  • Assess engagement risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable
  • Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution
  • Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all engagement team members
  • Participate in the creation of proposals, change requests and agreements as required
  • Other duties as required


Experience and education:

  • Bachelor degree, college diploma or CEGEP equivalent
  • Certification in Project Management or equivalent certification
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Competency in G Suite – Google Sheets is a must
  • Ability to multi-task and work on tight deadlines
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
  • Knowledgeof legal entities would be considered an asset
