Job Description:
- Optiva is a leading company in the telecom industry, including the full life cycle of telecom billing system experience, real-time and offline charging systems, CDR mediation and policy control
- QA Manager will coordinate testing activities for high-complexity programs in the R&D department, identifying project requirements with the technical team, creating plans, following up on progress, and communicating with stakeholders
- As a QA Manager, you will be working in a team of mixed-skill professionals (e.g., Developers, system integration, PMs, Ops teams, Quality management, etc.) on Optiva’s innovative solutions for OSS/BSS
What will you do?
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with project managers to identify and prioritize demand for testing
- Plan and develop the test plan along with execution and monitoring, and document Software Issues
- Handling of multiple concurrent projects for software testing
- Strong leadership skills – providing direction and vision, coaching team members, sound judgement, issue and conflict resolution, effective decision making, negotiation, communication, team building
- Organizational savvy, knowledge of tools and techniques
- Strategic in approach: understand and addresses inter-dependencies and real issues
- Clear definition of requirements (tested by real customer requirements) and timetables
- Experience managing to deliverables and milestones: on time/within budget/in-quality/meeting business needs
- Ability to hire and coach the teams and bring them to success
- Proven experience with QA teams of similar size and scope
- Organized and efficient in work processes
- Testing the governance process to ensure quality standard adherence
- Strong understanding of scoping, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, measuring quality, progress, risks and identifying benefits
- Identifying and delegating tasks to employees best positioned to complete them
- Identifying and managing potential risks and liabilities of multiple projects, create mitigation actions
- Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
- Ability to build management systems and capabilities
- Communicating with vertically and horizontally with executives, management, task-forces to keep the teams aligned with the company’s goals
- Performing quality control throughout development to maintain the standards expected
- Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needed
- Motivating people involved in the project to complete tasks on time
- Improving the team’s velocity on the committed roadmaps
What do you need to succeed?
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in IT field required (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science or correlated areas)
- More than 10 years of experience QA management
- SCRUM/Agile Certification
- Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others
- Excellent communication in English
- Knowledge of Agile methodology
- Very good soft skills, teamwork and adaptability to challenges
- Excellent skills in multi-tasking and handling tension and customer pressure
