R&D Manager

Job duties:

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams on the delivery of new product features
  • Work together with highly talented and professional engineers recognized as world-class specialists in their areas
  • Collaborate with Engineering Managers, Release Managers, Architects and Software Engineers from multiple geo-locations
  • Motivate and develop your team to achieve high productivity and morale
  • Introduce and sustain development processes aimed at high quality and efficiency
  • Recruit and retain top talent engineers in your team


What you’ll need to hop on board and hit the ground running:
Technical skills:

  • You love developing and growing people and have a tracked record doing it
  • You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development
  • You have experience in leading, managing, coaching and mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high-quality software together with them
  • You have solid experience working in an agile development environment
  • You will build and lead a team of engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback and hands-on career development
  • Support timely delivery of technical solutions to address business needs
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values
  • Be an active part of the tribe leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization
  • 3+ years of experience as a second-line manager, leading 30 people or more
  • Experience building engineering teams from ground up
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; fluent English is a must
  • Experience turning business objectives into team priorities and milestones
  • Track record in working across geographical, cultural and functional boundaries, to deliver well-integrated solutions
  • Experience managing in complex environments, with competing priorities and multiple stakeholders, lead RnD team(s) delivering key product features
  • Drive the successful execution of projects by managing schedules, resources and dependencies


It would be much easier for you if you have:
Additional skills

  • Experience in GCP, AWS, Azure
  • Experience in K8S
  • Experience with Java build tools including Gradle
  • Experience in CI/CD – Github, Jenkins, Helm, Docker, Ansible, Terraform
  • 3+ Telco experience (5G, IoT, AI, BigData, ML)
