for all brands

Customer Background

One of the largest North American CSPs in Canada and mobile virtual network enabler (MVNE) platform provider to MVNOs and sub-brands. It operates in a highly competitive market dominated by the post-paid business model. Its goal was to target youth and price-sensitive customer segments with prepaid commercial models without compromising the positioning of its existing brand.

Customer Challenge

The CSP was searching for a multi-tenant and flexible business support system (BSS) that could enable the faster rollout of flexible and diverse offers for its various MVNOs, targeting the different segments e.g. youth and price-sensitive subscribers.

The CSP further desired to offer its customers choice and control by providing them with the flexibility to select and build plans and bundles of their choice while also delivering a complete digital customer experience. The technology solution it sought had to be proven and capable of driving superior customer satisfaction.

Optiva

The Solution Deployed

The CSP partnered with Optiva to deploy its proven and modular BSS. Optiva’s multi-tenant BSS was implemented as an MVNE BSS platform and supported the operations of its multiple MVNOs. By leveraging its innovative capabilities, such as OOTB features, self care, and pre-integrated billing and policy control, the CSP offered its MVNO customers a variety of options and delivered a fully digital experience.

With Optiva’s digital BSS, the CSP was able to launch diverse offerings for different segments: one MVNO brand offering moderately priced plans and bundles along with enabling its device financing program. Another MVNO was enabled to offer low-cost, prepaid only, community-powered, and an incentivized business model comprising referrals and loyalty rewards.

Utilizing future-ready monetization, such as flexible rating, a building-block-driven catalog, and configuration capabilities, the CSP was able to fast track launch of new brands and has empowered its customers to select from ready-made base and stackable plans or create tailored plans that can be activated per their convenience in real time and offer a complete digital experience.
